Transition Tips##
Some cats need more time and encouragement before they start enjoying a new food, especially if they've been eating dry food only, or a wet food with artificial flavors, corn, wheat or soy. If your cat doesn't go for American Journey at first, don't worry as this is totally normal. A little patience goes a long way. Aside from following the recommended transition instructions, here are some tips to help ensure a smooth transition:

Good food...picky cat
My cat loves American Journey, but her minced with gravy food has been backordered for so long and I was down to the last 6 cans! What could go wrong by fetching the chicken and turkey flavors in pate and adding a nice chicken & beef for something new, I thought. Turns out her answer is no. She's not thrilled with pate. The girl wants her minced with gravy and looks at me like "What have you done??" Luckily I also had a case of minced chicken & turkey placed with the pate order, so we're good until the case of assorted flavors comes in, hopefully soon.

Kind of dry and sticky
This was a disappointing choice for my fussy felines. It appears to have good ingredients, but the taste or texture doesn't seem overly appealing to my cats at least. They will eat a little of it, and leave most of it. I think this might be the higher end, Chewy's own food? My cats do like the Tiny Tiger's line with extra gravy which is actually much cheaper, and I think also Chewy's line? Perhaps the addition of extra gravy would help this selection out; overall, it seems quite dry and sticky. I would like to see my cats eat more poultry and beef and less fish, so I'm sad this doesn't really work for us.

Not preferred
Could just be my cats, but they did not like any of the varieties and have left it all in bowls. Tried different flavors and integrating with other brands to get cats used to it but they refuse to eat it. Pate might be too thick and not enough gravy or liquid elements.

Not so yummy
There was a good deal on this food, and I've been wanting to try it for Sal and Sabby. Unfortunately, they don't like it. The ingredients seem good, but it's just not appealing to them. Although they like pate, the texture of this is really smooth, like ultra-pate, so that may be part of it. Hard to tell, cats can be finicky. I may need to donate this because they are really not having it!

A change in the size of American Journey
This is ideal for Benjamin, being he has had many teeth removed. Putting the extra food in the fridge wasn't his cup of tea!

Good product, just not for us
The food seems decent, but unfortunately just doesn't work for us. My senior cat has kidney disease and is SO picky about food - half the time he just wants Friskies. I tried this to give him some variety and he only eats about 1/4 of a can before walking away. It's pretty thick patè so that could be the case (I mix with water too), or it could be him. My other cats seem to enjoy it and finish what he doesn't :)

Great food but lacking options
Zoey absolutely loves this food, especially the turkey flavor (I just ordered a case of just turkey pates). I would like to see American Journey expand the flavors and combinations they make, because for a picky cat, its nice to have a lot of options with feeding. Also, a tuna flavor would be great.

Great food
If your looking for a grain free pate cat food this one is it. The cats love it. Also I get the dry food as well from this company and the cats love this too! Great value for the price, I find its better than Blue Buffalo.

Cat loves it
My picky kitty loves AJ foods from Chewy. She does great on them. She isn't as big of a fan as the beef and sometimes won't eat it but that's just her being difficult lol. Would love other variety packs!
